Nominate a business leader
striving for education excellence

The Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) is accepting nominations for the Kelly Award for Business and Education Partnership. The award honors a Kentucky businessperson who has partnered with a public school or district to provide outstanding leadership that promotes school improvement and student success.

Criteria for the award include:

  • Creating or sustaining strategic partnership between a business and school or district that leads to improved student outcomes, including but not limited to postsecondary success and workforce outcomes; and
  • Making significant contribution to a school or a district that leads or will likely lead to increased or improved educational opportunities or improved educational, postsecondary or workforce outcomes for students.

The award is named for Joseph W. Kelly, who served on the KBE from 1989 to 1998 and was board chairman for seven years during a critical time of implementing Kentucky’s nationally recognized school improvement efforts.

The nomination deadline is July 19. Visit the Kentucky Department of Education’s website for more information about KBE awards or use this Google form to nominate someone.
