Developing a Local Improvement Science Support Team

Strategic Implementation and Supports for
High Quality Science Classroom Instruction K-8

Six 2-hour sessions, 4:00-6:00pm EST:
March 11 & 25    April 15 & 29      May 6 & 20

What does it take to plan and deliver high-quality science instruction that involves students in the kind of thinking that supports learning transfer?

How can we take the vision of the Kentucky Academic Standards for Science and move it into practice both online and face to face?

Join PIMSER Regional Teacher Partner and Presidential Award Winner Patti Works and PIMSER director Dr. Kim Zeidler-Watters as we explore what constitutes best practice usage of the Science and Engineering Practices as students develop conceptual understanding of important science ideas. We will compare strong and weak models of lessons through video analysis and written lesson descriptions, and learn high impact strategies that can improve science instruction in classrooms in your school or district.  As a learning team you will be able to take the experiences from each session in this Series and use the materials and resources to immediately work with PLCs across the schools K-8.
This series will include six 2-hour sessions of live group learning and reflection via Zoom 12 hours of PD credit or 12 hours of EILA credit. Registration is limited!
Administrator/Teacher Teams of 2: $400 total
Additional team members: $150 per person
