3 more counties will get Georgetown College’s full-tuition scholarships.

The four-year, $160,000 scholarships Georgetown College this week offered to all Scott County students admitted during the next 10 years also will be offered to students in Owen and two other counties yet to be announced.

College spokesman Daniel Flener told the Herald-Leader Thursday that the two other Kentucky counties chosen for their historical connections to Georgetown College will be revealed soon.

About 1,600 Owen County students — the third graders through seniors who will be affected — were handed envelopes containing the news Wednesday in an assembly at Owen County High School, Owen County High School principal Duane Kline said.
